One reason I began writing this blog was to give myself a direction for the many projects I’m stuck working on.
And you know what? I gotta say that I’ve been more productive after my first posts than for the majority of last year. I hope to continue that, so today I have some nice updates to share with you.
New Mii Renderer Server
Like I mentioned in my last post, my two-year-old code for this has needed to be rewritten for a while. Since then, the list of reasons to finish this has just grown larger and larger.
Allow me to show you how I’ve been doing with this.
Where were you when Nintendo announced their new Tomodachi Life game? I sure wasn’t expecting that announcement!
So nice of Nintendo Co Ltd., oh, that sweet billion-dollar company, for doing the bare minimum and listening to their fans! We truly are Living The Dream. ☺️
As someone who’s been going embarrassingly deep into reversing and analyzing the internals of Mii characters over the past two years, you would probably imagine that I’ve been in endless excitement over this game. Ehhhh…
It doesn’t exist yet. Sorry if I clickbaited you. But it’s not far off, either!
Miis are deceptively complicated
On the surface? A cute Nintendo character creator. Choose a face shape, eye type, some sliders, done. Behind that, there’s an entire hidden world that nobody fully appreciates until they sit down and try to read the raw data.
Since then, I’ve explored many different ideas for Mii related projects and have went down many rabbitholes for reverse engineering Miis, and there’s always been more I’ve been wanting to make out of what I’ve learned.
NOTE: THIS IS UNFINISHED! I began writing this in February and just never finished. I may go back to it later, but if you’re interested in this topic, here’s what exists of this.
Leave a comment for what piques your interest the most. In bold are topics I am 100% writing about.
Or at least I hope. Will I actually write about half this stuff? Of course, time will tell. But while you’re talking to time, tell that guy to kill himse
